Some Current Reading

Last week I read eight very charming little books!  Intended for children, and my inner child was indeed entranced by these stories.  I assume everybody is familiar with the Brambly Hedge stories by Jill Barklem?  The illustrations, also by Jill Barklem, are richly detailed, and a real delight to study, because it takes time to see all that is there. So I spent two afternoons visiting Brambly Hedge for the very first time and becoming acquainted with the little mice families and their daily lives and adventures.  Nothing too complicated, just delightful and innocent.  A much appreciated break from recent events out there in the world.
