21. Ox-Cart Man, Donald Hall (a children's picture book, illustrated by Barbara Cooney, an award-winning classic that has been around over 40 years, and somehow, I never encountered it! After reading about it in Sarah Clarkson's book, Reclaiming Quiet, I wanted to see it for myself.)
22. The Ancient Faith Psalter, designed for reading the Psalms on a daily basis, completing them in seven days. And starting all over again, which is a habit I want to cultivate.

23. The Sister of the Angels, Elizabeth Goudge
24. Miss Rumphius, Story and Pictures by Barbara Cooney (another children's picture book)
Well, here is the final version of my 2021 reading list. Not even 20 books completed!
Funny, because I'm reading something every day . . . prayers, Scriptures, one book or another that gets read over and over because it helps keep me positive and on track, encouraged and hopeful. I don't tally these on my list. Currently I'm also reading my way through the Orthodox Study Bible. I split it up into five somewhat arbitrary sections (History, Psalms, Wisdom, Prophets, Gospel, Epistles) and try to read a chapter from each section most days. I do well for a while and then, oops!, three days have passed and I let life intervene too far. Or I spent too much time scrolling through all the loveliness on social media platforms. But, as another blogger recently wrote, we need that too. Beauty and goodness and wonderful photographs of places we would otherwise never get to visit and enjoy.
I wonder what 2022 will look like come next December. Only time will tell.

It's been a habit of mine for many years to keep a list of the books I read. It helps to have things written down when trying to recall a title or an author sometime later. I started publishing the lists here on the blog because it's a very handy place to keep them.
Here's a look at 2017, which has not been a year of much reading for me,
but I've enjoyed what I've managed to read thus far,
