One morning last week the moon was full and beginning to descend in the western sky . . . as I walked around the block a few times, I took the opportunity to play around a bit with perspective (the last two photos).

A Few Views
A few views from recent evenings . . .
1. Mount San Miguel through the plumeria trees. Mount San Miguel is a mountain in Chula Vista, California. It is 2,567' high, and is the 84th highest peak in San Diego County. Because San Miguel is "the highest point close in to the San Diego metro area", it has been home to radio and TV transmitters since the 1960s.
2. Closer view, Mount San Miguel.
3 - 5. Moonrise, various attempts with my phone camera one evening last week.

Wide Open Evening Sky
Here is a view from the hill for you, looking southwest or west, or straight up at an airliner preparing to make a turn west for its approach to San Diego International Airport, which lies pretty much in the direction of the setting sun over there closer to the Pacific Ocean. The wide open sky one evening this week, an unusual cloud formation, the moon, and an airplane.

The Moon on Saturday Morning
The moon on Saturday morning . . . when the weather was still reasonably chilly. Today however, while we continue to be blessed with clear blue skies, the temperature is soaring to 83 degrees!! I have been compensating for this dearth of winter weather by posting lots of snowy Christmas scenes on my Instagram stories. It helps.
